Ontario releases budget

Ontario released its budget yesterday and people do not have a clear understanding of what is in the document. Every major media outlet is reporting different figures for the long-term programs announced. The information is so varied that nobody has a clue what is actually going to happen with some money.

This is an example of people not checking their facts and basing their stories off of many different sources. The Liberal government said verbally that a certain program will run until 2016 when in the official document the dates only go as far 2014.

Election Coming Up

With the federal election fast approaching many people will be undecided on where to vote. With the amount of money that is being talked about for post secondary students will have a hard time making sense of what is the best option for them. The Liberals are committing $6 billion dollars for post-secondary education to make it easier for low income families to go to college or university. A large amount of students currently do not believe it is important to vote and with this new program it could make youth voting go up if there is something they can immediately benefit for.

Students will be seen as prominent voters in the May 2 election. Post-Secondary education is becoming more and more important and parties will be looking to campaign to students for votes.

Nuclear Problems?

The United States government has announced that it has no plans to change their position on the Israeli Nuclear Program. Why could it possibly be that a country so hell bent on disallowing other countries the right to nuclear power allows such a small and war torn country to keep their weapons. Read More…

The Playoffs

The NHL playoffs are upon us now and there are plenty of assumptions being made about what teams are going to win what round and then what teams will win it all.

All these numbers are based on are stats. The one stat that is missing is the emotion. A team may go into a series with the best record in the league. And yet the under achievers has more heart and more of a drive to win. There are frequently upsets every year so proper predictions cannot be taken as accurate.

There will be at least one upset this year that no one called and thought was going to happen. But it is the strength of human emotion that will cause the upset. It could be the Capitals who had the best record in the league not having the motivation to compete or Montreal putting critics aside and achieving greatness.

No one can predict how the playoffs will unravel all we know is it will be a good year. Plenty of surprises and plenty of highlight real goals.

Look good for nothing…

Why is it that one company cannot take a $300,000 cut when they are seeing annual revenue of $10 billion dollars. The world evolves around the dollar, if you are a government in deficit and need to write your sinking ship then why not take money from the rich to feed the poor. Read More…

Beantown Sabres

This could be the most evenly matched playoff series this year. The Sabres would have the advantage but they are potentially missing three top six forwards. Without that primary scoring they may have trouble finding offence against Tuukka Rask. Although they do have Vezina trophy favorite Ryan Miller in net for them so it will be hard for the Bruins to gain a goal advantage. Both teams have injuries to their star players so this game will come down to secondary scoring. Read More…

Jersey-Philley Show

The Bruissers of the NHL are up against the highly skilled New Jersey Devils. The Devils rode another 40 plus season from Martin Brodeur. While the Flyers were getting good goal tending from Ray Emery before losing him to injury. The Devils bring in a team based around Brodeur. They allowed the fewest goals in the league with a strong tight defence around Brodeur. They have been getting offence up front from superstar Zack Parise and increased their offensive power when they added Ilya Kovalchuck. Read More…

Ovechkin vs Montreal

Alexander Ovechkin is going to compete in his first Stanley Cup Playoffs series in Canada. And it happens to be the winning est team in NHL history, the Montreal Canadians. This is one of the clear cut under-dog series in this years playoffs. The Washington Capitals lead the league in points this year with 121 while Montreal is the team heading into the playoffs with the least amount of points. The Caps also scored almost 50 more goals then the second highest team in the league and 100 more than Montreal. Read More…
